Eastman is a shining city found in Dodge County, in central Georgia. It is approximately 60 miles southeast of Macon, one of the larger cities in the region. The city of Eastman has a history dating back to the late 19th century when it was officially incorporated in 1872. It was named in honor of Captain William P. Eastman, a civil engineer involved in the construction of the Macon and Brunswick Railroad. The population of Eastman exceeds 6 thousand people.
