Dickinson County is located in the northwestern part of Michigan. The county seat of Dickinson County is Iron Mountain. The overall area of the county is about 777 square miles. Set up in 1891 from parts of Iron County, Marquette County and Menominee County, today Dickinson County counts over 26 thousand inhabitants. The county is named after Donald M. Dickinson (1846-1917): Postmaster General in the Cleveland Administration.
