Anson County is located on the eastern outskirts of Charlotte, North Carolina. The county seat of Anson County is Wadesboro. The county's area exceeds 537 square miles. Founded in 1750 from Bladen County, today Anson County counts over 22 thousand inhabitants. The county is named after George, Lord Anson (1697-1762), a celebrated English admiral who circumnavigated the globe.
