Bladen County is situated in the southern section of North Carolina. The area of Bladen County is about 887 square miles. The county was established in 1734 from New Hanover County, and it is populated today by 30 thousand residents. Elizabethtown is the county seat of Bladen County. The county is named after Martin Bladen, a member of the Board of Trade.
