Renting a car is the most flexible way to see the island (and pretty affordable), letting you hit beaches, mountain villages, and archaeological sites at your own pace. Buses connect major cities and tourist areas and are cheap, but routes can be slow or limited if you’re exploring remote spots. Taxis are common in towns and easy for short trips, but fares add up if you rely on them all day. Roads in the south are generally good, and driving is on the left side of the road. If you plan to explore the Troodos mountains or Akamas, renting a car is the smartest move.
