Bulgaria has a population of about 6.4 million people. The country’s population has been steadily declining due to low birth rates and emigration to other parts of Europe. Most Bulgarians live in cities like Sofia, Plovdiv, and Varna, where jobs and services are concentrated. Rural areas have seen population drops as younger generations move away for work or study. Despite these challenges, Bulgaria offers a high quality of life and a rich cultural heritage. The aging population presents challenges for healthcare and the labor market. Overall, Bulgaria’s population is shrinking but remains proud and culturally vibrant.
