El Salvador has a population of about 6.8 million people. It’s the most densely populated country in Central America, with most people living in urban areas like San Salvador. The population is relatively young, though emigration to the U.S. has affected growth. Families are close-knit, and community ties remain strong despite migration patterns. Agriculture and services support much of the population’s livelihoods. Urbanization is increasing as people move for better jobs and education. Overall, El Salvador has a vibrant, youthful population living in a small but lively country.
