What is a Grand Slam tournament? The full list of Grand Slam competitions

A Grand Slam tournament is one of four major annual tennis competitions. And these are:

1. Australian Open, usually held in january in Melbourne, Australia. 
2. Roland Garros AKA French Open, usually held in May near Paris. 
3. The Wimbledon, played in august in London. 
4. The US Open, played each august in New York City. 

The Grand Slam tournaments are the most prestigious tennis competitions in the World, and only a dozen of outstanding tennis players managed to win each of them at least once.
