Restoration teams have since repaired these damages using new soapstone sourced from the same quarry as the original. The statue undergoes regular maintenance and monitoring to prevent long-term deterioration. It has proven remarkably resilient given its age and exposure. Conservation is now supported by both public and private initiatives.
