The Colosseum could accommodate between 50,000 and 80,000 spectators at its peak. The seating was arranged by social hierarchy, with the best seats reserved for the elite. Ordinary citizens sat higher up, while women and the poor had the least desirable spots. Entry was free for Roman citizens, and tickets were distributed in advance. The vast size and efficient crowd management reflect the Romans' impressive architectural and logistical skills.
