What is Stonehenge?

Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, England. It consists of a ring of massive standing stones, some topped with horizontal lintels, and dates back over 4,500 years. The site is one of the most famous landmarks in the United Kingdom and has fascinated archaeologists, historians, and tourists for generations. Stonehenge is part of a larger complex of Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments, including burial mounds and avenues. It is now a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site and a symbol of Britain's ancient past.
