What other prehistoric sites are near Stonehenge?

The area surrounding Stonehenge is rich in prehistoric sites, forming a vast ceremonial landscape. Nearby attractions include Woodhenge, Durrington Walls (a large Neolithic settlement), the Cursus, and numerous burial mounds known as barrows. Avebury, located about 25 miles north, is another impressive stone circle and part of the same UNESCO World Heritage Site. These locations offer deeper insight into the culture, rituals, and engineering of Britain’s ancient inhabitants and are often included in broader archaeological tours.
