When was the Tower of Pisa built?

Construction of the Tower of Pisa began in 1173 and took nearly 200 years to complete due to wars and engineering challenges. It was completed in the mid-14th century. The long timeline allowed builders to adjust the upper stories in an attempt to correct the tilt as it became more pronounced during construction.
