Who built Newgrange?

Newgrange was built by a community of Neolithic farmers over 5,000 years ago, around 3200 BCE. Though the names of the builders are unknown, their knowledge of astronomy, engineering, and art is evident in the structure's design and the megalithic art carved into the stones. The people who built Newgrange were part of a sophisticated prehistoric society.
