Who designed and built the statue of Christ the Redeemer?

The concept was proposed by Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa, while the final design of the statue was created by French sculptor Paul Landowski. Romanian artist Gheorghe Leonida sculpted the statue’s detailed face. The construction involved many engineers, artisans, and laborers, making it a collaborative international effort. The foundation and internal structure were designed in Brazil, and parts of the statue were made in France and shipped to Rio. The building process on the mountain was complex and required innovative solutions. Their combined efforts produced one of the most iconic monuments in the world.
