Why is Independence Hall historically significant?

Independence Hall is significant because it was the meeting place of the Second Continental Congress from 1775 to 1783. It was here that the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776, officially marking the American colonies’ separation from Britain. Additionally, the Constitutional Convention took place in this building in 1787, where the United States Constitution was drafted and signed. These two foundational documents laid the groundwork for American government and law.
