What is Niagara Falls?

Niagara Falls is a group of three powerful waterfalls straddling the border between Ontario, Canada, and New York State, USA. The three falls are the Horseshoe Falls (mostly on the Canadian side), the American Falls, and the smaller Bridal Veil Falls (both on the U.S. side). Together, they form one of the most famous and visited natural attractions in North America. The Niagara River, which drains Lake Erie into Lake Ontario, flows over the falls. The surrounding region is a major center for tourism, hydropower, and natural beauty.
