Radio City opened back in 1932 as part of Rockefeller Center, during the Great Depression. It was meant to be a “people’s theater” with affordable tickets and entertainment for everyone. Over the years, it’s hosted everything from movies and variety shows to iconic concerts and political events. The Rockettes became its most famous stars, especially around the holidays. Today, it’s a mix of history and modern entertainment, keeping its classic charm alive.
