Summer’s the most popular season — July through September — when the snow’s melted and roads are fully open. That’s when you can drive the Rim Drive, hike trails, and catch boat tours. Spring and fall are quieter, with fewer crowds but unpredictable weather. Winter’s another story — deep snow closes most access points, but it’s perfect if you love snowshoeing or cross-country skiing. Every season gives the lake a different personality, from bright and alive to mysterious and frozen. Just be ready for sudden changes; mountain weather does what it wants here.
