What currency is used in Cameroon?

Cameroon uses the Central African CFA franc, written as XAF. It’s shared with several neighboring countries in Central Africa, like Chad and Gabon. The CFA franc is pegged to the euro, which helps keep it stable. Cash is still the main way people pay, especially in markets and small towns. You’ll see colorful banknotes showing African culture, farming, and architecture. ATMs are available in larger cities like Yaoundé and Douala. The CFA franc makes trade and travel easier across the region’s French-speaking countries.
