The capital of Myanmar is Naypyidaw. It’s a relatively new city, built in the early 2000s to serve as the country’s administrative center. Naypyidaw is known for its wide boulevards, government buildings, and quiet neighborhoods. The city has a tropical climate, hot and humid most of the year. Locals enjoy traditional Burmese culture, food, and festivals. Despite being large in size, the city feels surprisingly calm and less crowded than other capitals. Naypyidaw offers a unique glimpse into Myanmar’s government and modern planning.
