The official language in Bahrain is Arabic, specifically Gulf Arabic. English is widely spoken in business, education, and among expats. You might also hear Farsi due to the significant Iranian community. Many Bahrainis are bilingual or even trilingual, switching easily between Arabic, English, and sometimes other languages. Arabic is used in government, media, and daily life, so learning a few phrases is helpful. The local dialect can sound quite different from standard Arabic, but most people understand both. Overall, the language mix reflects Bahrain’s international and diverse culture.
