John Lennon left The Beatles for several reasons that had built up over time. He wanted more creative freedom and felt restricted by the band’s structure. His growing interest in experimental art and political activism also led him in new directions. The group itself was dealing with tension and disagreements about music and business. By the late 1960s, each member was exploring solo ideas, and the old chemistry wasn’t the same. Lennon privately told the band he wanted to leave before Paul McCartney made the news public. Even though the breakup upset fans, it allowed John to focus on music and causes he cared about.
