Where is Capitol Hill located?

Capitol Hill sits in the northeast and southeast quadrants of Washington, D.C., roughly east of the National Mall. The U.S. Capitol Building anchors the hill at the eastern end of Pennsylvania Avenue. To the north and east lie residential streets, historic rowhouses and community parks. Constitution Avenue borders part of the district, with Independence Avenue to the south. Many federal office buildings for members of Congress are scattered around the hill, forming part of the Capitol complex. The Library of Congress and Supreme Court are also within easy walking distance. This central position makes Capitol Hill highly accessible by metro, bus or walking from other parts of the city.
