Progressive Field is generally considered pretty fair to both hitters and pitchers. The left field wall is about 325 feet from home plate, which can help right-handed hitters. Right field is slightly deeper, giving left-handed hitters a bit more of a challenge. Weather in Cleveland, especially wind coming off Lake Erie, can sometimes affect how the ball carries. During warm summer nights, the ball tends to travel better. Over the years, the park has seen its share of home runs and big offensive games. Still, it’s not known as an extreme hitter’s park like some others in MLB.
