Grant County is located in the southwestern corner of Wisconsin. This well known county is named after a trader named Grant who made contact with area natives in 1810 but about whom little else is known. The county seat of Grant County is Lancaster. The county's area is about 1147 square miles. Founded in 1837, today Grant County is home to 52 thousand residents.
