The Kaaba is a cube-shaped structure located at the heart of the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca. It is covered by a black cloth known as the Kiswah, embroidered with golden Quranic verses. Muslims believe the Kaaba was originally built by Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his son Ismail (Ishmael). It serves as the qibla, the direction Muslims face when performing their prayers. During Hajj and Umrah, pilgrims circle the Kaaba in a ritual called Tawaf. Its central role makes it the holiest site in Islam.
