Stock markets mixed but S&P 500 & Nasdaq hit new highs

Wall Street had a bit of a mixed bag: the S&P 500 and Nasdaq both surged to record highs, while the Dow Jones slipped and small-cap stocks lagged. Oracle’s optimism on cloud/AI demand helped lift sentiment, even as Apple weighed on the broader indexes. Treasury yields eased after the inflation data, which helped reinforce hopes for lighter monetary policy ahead. For the week, the S&P and Nasdaq are up, while the Dow is flat-ish and Russell 2000 is down slightly. Investors are watching the upcoming CPI report and Fed moves very closely now.
