Palma's city center is super walkable, and lots of the main sights are clustered so you can do a lot on foot. The city bus network is decent for getting around town, and trains or trams connect you to spots like Sóller if you want a scenic trip. If you plan to explore the island a lot, renting a car gives you freedom to hit tiny coves and mountain villages on your own schedule. Parking in the old town can be a headache though, and driving in narrow streets isn't for everyone. Bike rentals are a fun option — Palma's pretty bike-friendly in many areas. For most city-only trips, skip the car and save the rental for day trips.
