The John Hancock Center stands about 1,128 feet tall including its antenna, making it one of Chicago’s tallest skyscrapers. The main roof height is around 1,030 feet, which already puts it way up there among the city’s famous buildings. When it opened back in 1969, it was one of the tallest buildings in the world. Even today, it still makes a big impression when you’re walking down Michigan Avenue. You can spot it easily from miles away because of its twin antennas and sleek dark exterior. It’s basically part of the Chicago skyline’s DNA now.
