Maui is famous for its beaches, but it’s got way more going on than just sand and surf. Most folks do the Road to Hana for waterfalls, bamboo forests, and wild ocean views, but it’s an all-day adventure. Haleakalā sunrise is crazy popular too — you’re literally above the clouds watching the sun pop out of a volcanic crater. Snorkeling at Molokini crater is another favorite, with clear water and tons of marine life. If you’re into whales, come in winter and you’ll see humpbacks right off the coast. Don’t skip Lahaina and Paia for artsy shops and food with local flavor. Maui gives you a mix of epic nature and small-town island vibes all in one trip.
